Benelli especially in India has been on a roll with multiple launches of promising looking new motorcycles. What this leads us to believe is that they will soon be updating the ageing TNT 300 with its updated version the Benelli 302 S. The TNT 300 has been with us for a long time now and surely needs the update. What we can understand is that the name could be retained while the motorcycle gets updated to its latest version.
The 302 S is the new Benelli naked, designed for the youth, featuring a sporty, modern and extremely captivating design, an evolution of the best-selling 300 cc version of the Benelli brand. It now comes with a completely new look starting with the design of the front LED headlight that distinguishes this new motorcycle.
The 302 S has a parallel twin-cylinder engine with fuel injection and a DOHC system four valves per cylinder. Power and torque are respectively 38 HP (28 kW) at 11,000 rpm and 25.6 Nm (2.6 kgm) at 9750 rpm. It has a wet-sump lubrication, wet clutch and a six-speed gearbox with final chain drive. And it of-course should sound great like its predecessor.
The frame is the classic steel tube trellis while the suspensions feature an upside-down hydraulic front fork having a 41 mm diameter and a swing arm with adjustable shock absorber at the rear. Seat height is 795 mm and groundclearance is at 175 mm. It still is quite heavy with a 204 kg kerb weight.
For braking, the 302 S has a 260 mm diameter floating double petal discs at the front, and a 240 mm diameter floating petal disc at the rear. It will also feature switchable Dual channel ABS. The 17 inch aluminium alloy rims mount a Pirelli Angel 120/70 tyre on the front and 160/60 at the rear. Also worthy of note is the generous tank capacity for a motorcycle of this kind, holding 16 litres of fuel.
302 S is offered in white with red frame and a black with red frame internationally. Both versions should be available for us too after launch.
